Ace Hood
American
musician Antoine Franklin Mc Colister was born on May 11 on the 11th of May,
1988. He was born in Port St. Lucie and raised in Deerfield Beach. In 2008, he
signed to DJ Khaled's We the Best Music Group as a record producer. It was an
alliance with Def Jam Recordings. He has released four studio albums with his
most successful of which was Blood, Sweat & Tears (2011) and Trials &
Tribulations (2013). His top-charting singles were "Hustle Hard", and
"Bugatti" featuring Future and Rick Ross. Mc Colister announced in
2016 that he was leaving We the Best Music. He has since become an independent
musician. Ace Hood was born in Port St. Lucie in Florida and was raised in
Deerfield Beach by his mother (of Haitian descent) and his cousin Ty Barton
Jr., from Broward County. Deerfield Beach High School was where he graduated.
The Broward County native started to think about a career in rap after
sustaining a 10th-grade football injury. Hood was a part of Dollaz & Dealz,
and came out with "M.O.E." in 2006. In 2006, he also began to promote
himself through open mic events and talent shows in the city. In 2007, Hood met
DJ Khaled outside the office of the WEDR 99 Jamz radio station. Khaled gave
Hood an autographed copy of his autobiography, as well as a demo tape. Khaled
asked Hood for a freestyle. Hood performed the instrumental to "I'm So
Hood" from his sophomore album We the Best. Khaled later signed Hood to
the We the Best Music Group label. Hood as well as other artists, were featured
in XXL magazine's Freshmen of the Year 2009.
